Chasing Shadows

Whoever said money is bad has definitely not tasted poverty. Money in itself is not bad but "the love of money is the root of all kind of evil". When the pursuit of wealth becomes an obsession and a person forgoes Morales and tosses caution to the wind, then there is cause for concern. When you no longer care about the people that are hurt in your "pursuit of wealth" then there is a problem

. Most times, man's selfish pursuit of money is based on a wrong perspective of what true wealth actually is. If your definition of abundant wealth consists basically of flashy cars, diamond encrusted jewelleries, clothes, stuffs and more stuffs, oh what an impoverished soul thou art!!(My literature class is paying off. Lol).  "Hustling" was and still is a popular word among a lot of people. In its negative translation, it simply means doing anything and everything to make ends meet, NO HOLDS BARRED, MAKE MONEY OR DIE TRYING, HOW LOW CAN YOU GO. A lot of people have sold their values and virtues in the pursuit of "wealth".
No wonder get rich scams are the fastest and easiest ways of ridding people of their hard earned money. People out of desperation would do anything to get rich, no question asked! However Proverbs 13:11 has different take on that matter "dishonest money quickly dwindles away, but whoever gatherers money little by little makes it grow". Its hard work starting small but the effort will eventually be worth every sweat; moreover God rewards hard work "whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense" Proverbs 12:11.
In all money is useless in times of trouble. Rich people die from cancer and so do poor people. "No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength" Psalm 33:16.

If God is not at the centre of your wealth then it is worthless!! If life is all about stuffs then life is mere shadow and man is merely chasing shadows. Everything in life will pass away except the word of God "But the rich should take pride in their humiliation--since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. James 1:10-11.

BE WISE. Enjoy this beautiful song titled "Ijoba Orun" (Mu mi dele) by one of Nigeria's renowned gospel singer Lara George. The song means "The Kingdom of God". The song encourages the right perspective about life
